ALPACAS!!!!! - 2006-03-12
I finally met an alpaca!!!! And it was wonderful!!! We went to oakvale farm and fauna world today and i havnt been there since preschool and i could still kinda remember it. I remember being too scared to feed the goats. But i did it today! I feed them with the bottles and the food and they ate out of my hand and it tickled. It was all very nice. And i patted a kangaroo who looked mean. I felt like such a kid, but i've never done any of this before so it was just as exciting for me as it was for all the 4 yr olds running around.

So in general my farm experience was very fun. But the alpaca part of my day was awesome!! We spent about an hour there, and probably about a third of that with the alpacas! They were so beutiful! They were alot shorter than i thought they would be. I thought they'd be at least as tall as me, but they were much shorter. But they were still very impressive. Most of them had recently been shorn so there ur was all short.

Except for the littlest most ugly one. It was so freaking agly. He was at least half a meter shorter than the others and had thick dirty wool. But what made him the most ugly was his face. It was all pushed it like a bulldogs or something. He was ugly. I didnt really talk to him much.

There were 7 alpacas all up. One had his own pen, probably cos he was a jerk. We called him arron. And there was a loner one way uo the other end of the paddock away from the others. We didnt call him anything. And there was the ugly little one. Two brown ones we named lynn and um noname. Then there was this skanky white one we called trina. And then there was logan. You could tell which one was logan straight away. He was the bully and the biggest and the prettiest and the one who talked to us the most and came near us and ate our food. I fell in love with him. He fell in love with me too. When i walked away to say hello to the loner he followed me. He didnt want me to leave.

They didnt want to be touched, they pulled away if you tried to pat them, which was a shame. I did get a bit of logans ear, but mostly they really didnt want to be touched. They werent shy though, they came right up to us to talk. And they ate out of my hand. i was a bit eee at first about feeding them, cos they have bigger teeth than the goats. But i did in the end and it tickled alot and they were very nice. To me anyways, logan, being the bully, would push everyone out of the way to have me all to himself. And he spit on another alpaca at one stage. He'd never spit on me though cos we love each other!

We took about 40 pictures of all the alpacas. I picked out the best ones of logan to show you.
